Sun Lakes is a collection of gated 55-plus communities south of Chandler — Oakwood, Cottonwood, Palo Verde, Ironwood, and IronOaks — and cabinet projects here are shaped by that active-adult setting. Homes are predominantly single-level and were built from the 1970s through the 2000s, so their cabinet boxes are typically sound while the doors and finishes have dated. That makes refacing an excellent fit, and it aligns perfectly with what Sun Lakes homeowners actually want: not a disruptive gut remodel to chase resale, but a refreshed, easier-to-use kitchen with better storage and accessible touches that support comfortable, independent living for years to come. We bring the patient, tidy, respectful process these communities deserve.
Cabinets define the look of a kitchen, and you don't always need a full gut remodel to transform them. If your cabinet boxes are solid, refacing — new doors, drawer fronts, and matching veneer — gives you a brand-new look for a fraction of the cost and time of replacement. When the layout or boxes need to change, we build and install custom and semi-custom cabinetry instead.
We help you choose the right path for your budget and goals: reface to refresh, or replace to reconfigure. Either way you get modern door styles, soft-close hardware, smart storage, and a clean, professional installation — for kitchens, baths, laundry rooms, and built-ins throughout the home.
We proudly serve Sun Lakes neighborhoods including Oakwood, Cottonwood, Palo Verde, Ironwood, IronOaks. From your first call to the final walkthrough, you get transparent fixed pricing, full permit handling, and workmanship we stand behind.

Cabinet Refacing & Custom Cabinets in Sun Lakes: What Local Homeowners Should Know
The priority in Sun Lakes is comfort and function over showpiece finishes, and refacing delivers exactly that. We reface sound boxes with clean, timeless doors that will not look dated in a few years, add soft-close hardware, and — most importantly here — build the interiors around easier daily use: full-extension pull-out shelves so nothing disappears to the back of a deep base, corner organizers, drawer dividers, and comfort-minded storage that reduces bending and reaching. For homeowners aging in place, these pull-outs and organizers are often the whole point, turning a hard-to-use original kitchen into one that works without strain, all while keeping the sound cabinetry and the budget.
The practical realities of Sun Lakes fold neatly into a refacing project. Refacing is cosmetic, so it needs no permit; the community is unincorporated, which places any permitted work under Maricopa County, but a straightforward reface does not reach that threshold. Each gated community has its own HOA guidelines, access procedures, and quiet hours, and we coordinate gate access, keep job sites clean and low-dust, and work considerately around neighbors — a refacing project is fast and contained, which minimizes disruption in a close-knit 55-plus setting. Where a homeowner also wants a walk-in shower or broader accessibility work, we can pair the cabinet reface with that, but the cabinet piece itself stays simple, quick, and clean.
Sun Lakes Homes We Work On
Sun Lakes was developed from the 1970s through the 2000s as a series of age-qualified communities, and its housing reflects that: predominantly single-level homes, many with golf-course or water views, designed for easy living. Floor plans favor accessibility and low maintenance, and the homes are now at the age where original kitchens and — especially — bathrooms are ready for updating.
Cabinet Refacing & Custom Cabinets Costs in Sun Lakes
In Sun Lakes, the most common project is the bathroom, and costs reflect that focus. As planning ranges, a tub-to-walk-in-shower conversion typically runs $8,000–$20,000, a full accessible bathroom remodel $18,000–$35,000, and kitchen updates vary with scope. Because homes here are single-level, projects are generally straightforward, without the complications of multi-story work.
Project Spotlight: An easier-to-use kitchen reface in Oakwood
A longtime couple in the Oakwood community loved their single-level home but struggled with the original deep, dark cabinets. We refaced with clean, timeless Shaker doors in a soft neutral, added soft-close hardware, and — the real win — filled the bases with full-extension pull-out shelves, added drawer organizers, and put a swing-out system in the corner so everything comes to them. Better lighting finished it. The kitchen looks fresh and, more importantly, is far easier to use every day — done tidily, with gate access and quiet hours respected.
